BABYMONSTER is gearing up to release their new single “Hot Sauce” on July 1. The song was announced by their agency, YG Entertainment, on June 23.
“Hot Sauce” is described as a fun, catchy hip-hop track with a throwback feel to the late 1980s. YG’s general producer, Yang Hyun Suk, shared that they prepared the song as a special gift for fans to enjoy this summer.
However, it came as a disappointment to many that Rami would not be joining this comeback. YG explained that she is currently focusing on her health and still needs more time to fully recover. The agency made it clear that her well-being is their top priority and asked fans to understand and continue to support her during this time.
YG stated,
“Rami still needs sufficient time to focus on her recovery. We kindly ask for your understanding, as our top priority is the artist’s health.”
Rami went on hiatus on May 9, 2025, and did not participate in the entire Asia tour, “Hello Monsters,” from May to June. At the time, YG stated that she has been facing ‘persistent health issues’ since her debut days and her health condition has not ‘significantly improved.’
Fans were disappointed that the 17-year-old singer would miss the promotions of the upcoming single, ‘Hot Sauce.’
This news doesn’t come as a surprise, as Rami was diagnosed with pneumothorax around the time of BABYMONSTER’s official debut. Fans are naturally concerned about her health and are more than willing to wait for her return.
Many are sending messages of support, wishing her a full and speedy recovery, and encouraging her to take all the time she needs to rest and put her well-being first.
After releasing their new song “Hot Sauce,” BABYMONSTER is planning to drop another single in September, followed by a mini-album in October. Meanwhile, BABYMONSTER will perform in Taipei on June 28-29 as part of their world tour, “Hello Monsters.”
