WOODZ is getting ready to mark a major milestone in his career with the release of his first full-length album. The singer-songwriter, whose real name is Cho Seungyoun, will release his studio album titled Archive. 1 next month. This album comes following the massive success of his viral hit “Drowning” and his recent military discharge.

According to EDAM Entertainment, Archive. 1 will be released on March 4, 2026, at 6 PM KST. This album is especially meaningful for WOODZ, as it is his first full-length release since his solo debut in 2018. It is also his first new album in three years, following the release of his EP OO-LI in 2023.

A pre-release track from the album will be dropped on February 12 at 6 PM KST to give fans an early taste of the project. In addition, a four-part highlight medley video will be released sequentially from February 2 through February 5. This will offer previews of the album’s overall sound and mood.

The album announcement comes after an extraordinary period for WOODZ. His 2023 B-side track “Drowning” unexpectedly surged in popularity in late 2024 after he performed it during his military service. The song quickly went viral and continued climbing the charts throughout 2025. It eventually claimed the top spot on Melon’s 2025 Yearly Chart, becoming the biggest hit of his career.

After being discharged from the military last year, WOODZ returned to music without delay. He released the single album I’ll Never Love Again and appeared at multiple festivals. At the time, he shared that he wanted to give back to fans who continued to support him and helped turn “Drowning” into such a massive success.

Teasers for Archive. 1 hint at a deeply personal project. The album poster features folders displayed on a computer screen, which suggests music drawn from his personal archive.

Fans also got an early preview of the album during one of his concerts last November. WOODZ performed unreleased tracks including “Hwageun,” “Cinema,” and “Samo,” hinting that these songs may be part of the upcoming album. At the time, he told fans that the songs would feel even better once officially released as a digital album.

In other news, there are rumors about a possible X1 reunion, a project group WOODZ debuted with in 2019 after “Produce X 101.” So, fans may see the singer reunite with former members through a fan event or a variety show.

Mark your calendar for March 4 when Archive. 1 drops worldwide.
