WINNER’s Mino has found himself at the center of controversy after the latest Dispatch report.
On December 17, Dispatch raised allegations of inadequate service and attendance record irregularities surrounding Song Mino surfaced.
As per the news media outlet, the 31-year-old rapper skipped out on his duties after a 6-day Hawaiian vacation. There was no sighting of him at work after he returned from Hawaii on October 30.
Dispatch reporters kept watch at the entrance for a week in November and made another check in December, but Mino was not spotted even once.
The Kmedia outlet raised suspicions about his close ties with his superior, Mr. L. According to the report, Mr. L went out of his way to accommodate the WINNER member, bringing him to his new workplace over a month after his transfer and providing special treatment. He handled his handwritten attendance records, which were likely signed in bulk.
When asked to provide objective evidence, such as work attendance records or CCTV footage, to verify his attendance, the superior refused, citing personal information protection.
Instead, Mr. L attributed Song Mino’s absences to “annual leave,” “sick leave,” and “hospitalization.” He also claimed that the “Fiancé” singer was keeping a low profile due to physical and mental health issues.
YG Entertainment responded to the allegations, stating, ‘We cannot confirm detailed information about the artist’s military service.’ They added, ‘Song Mino’s sick leave and vacation were used in accordance with regulations, and the reason was an extension of treatment he had been receiving before his service.’
Mapo Community Service Center, where he is serving, will issue a statement after reviewing the matter.
Mino has been performing his duties as an alternative military service worker since March 24 of last year, and he is set to be discharged on December 24.
