On March 20, JYP Entertainment revealed that their exclusive contract with 2PM member Lee Junho will expire on April 15th. Following thorough discussions, both parties have mutually decided not to extend their contract. They are going their separate ways after their 17 years of partnership.

In an official statement, JYP stated,

“Lee Junho has been consistently showing the best performance in both singing and acting since his debut as a member of the group 2PM in 2008. Based on mutual trust, he has renewed his contract with us several times, and we have shared the artist’s brilliant seasons together. We sincerely thank Junho for being with us for 17 years, accompanying the company’s growth and journey.”

The agency added, “While the official contract is coming to an end, JYP Entertainment will always support Lee Junho’s new challenges and brilliant journey. We will also continue to be in charge of Junho’s activities in Japan, and we plan to actively support him in any future work that requires collaboration.”

Lee Junho also expressed his gratitude, saying, “I sincerely thank you for your unwavering support over the past 17 years. I will cherish the relationship we have built together over a long time and the value of the support you have given me.”

Notably, the 35-year-old singer and actor is the 3rd 2PM member to part ways with JYP Entertainment after Taecyeon and Chansung. In January 2022, Chansung parted ways with JYP Entertainment and became a signed artist under L’ July Entertainment. Taecyeon was the first 2PM member to leave the agency back in 2018, now signed under 51K.

On the work front, Lee Junho is making his mark in the acting world with his appearances in “King The Land” and “The Red Sleeve”. Next, he will appear in Netflix’s drama “Cashero” with Kim Hye Jin, slated to release this year. He is currently filming tvN’s “Typhoon Company” with Kim Min Ha.
