Kim Hye Yoon may soon be teaming up with Jang Na Ra in the second season of the hit SBS legal drama “Good Partner.” On November 5, Kim’s agency Artist Company confirmed that she is “reviewing an offer to star in ‘Good Partner 2.’”
Good Partner became one of SBS’s biggest hits when it aired in 2024. The series followed star divorce lawyer Cha Eun Kyung (played by Jang Na Ra) and inexperienced lawyer Han Yu Ri (played by Nam Ji Hyun). The show portrayed the struggles of people facing separation and starting over.
The drama recorded a peak viewership rating of 17.7%, according to Nielsen Korea, and earned Jang Na Ra the Grand Prize (Daesang) at the 2024 SBS Drama Awards. Viewers praised its realistic script, strong acting, and the chemistry between its leads.
SBS confirmed in April that a second season was in the works, though specific details such as casting and schedule had not been decided at that time. The sequel will be a joint production between Artist Company—Kim Hye Yoon’s agency—and Studio & New.
Studio & New said the new season would “expand the worldview and offer a deeper, more emotional narrative.” The makers will make the second season even more relatable for viewers. The production team is preparing for a broadcast in the second half of 2026.
One of the biggest changes in Good Partner 2 will be the cast lineup. Nam Ji Hyun, who played Han Yu Ri, will not be returning for the sequel. Her agency revealed that she could not join due to scheduling conflicts. She is currently filming a new historical romantic comedy titled “Dear Bandit,” set to air in 2026.
If Kim Hye Yoon accepts the offer, she will take on a new character who works alongside Jang Na Ra’s character.
Kim Hye Yoon has been one of the busiest young actresses in recent years. The 28-year-old actress has been on a career high since her appearance on the romantic time-slip drama “Lovely Runner.”
She recently finished filming the fantasy romance drama “Human from Today”, where she stars opposite Lomon. In the series, she plays a quirky gumiho—a nine-tailed fox—who doesn’t want to become human. The fantasy romance drama is set to air in the first half of 2026.
Kim has also completed work on the upcoming movie “A Place to Kill,” which is awaiting release. She is currently filming the crime movie “Land,” co-starring Yeom Jung Ah and Cha Joo Young.
