The massively popular webtoon Dark Moon: The Blood Altar is finally making its long-awaited return with a brand-new sequel, Dark Moon: TWO MOONS. Fans of the series — especially ENHYPEN fans, who have followed the story closely because of the group’s collaboration — are getting a fresh chapter in the Dark Moon saga starting this week.
The new series picks up right where The Blood Altar left off. The original webtoon wrapped up in 2023 after attracting more than 200 million views worldwide. It built a huge international following thanks to its mix of vampire lore, high-school fantasy, and the ENHYPEN-linked characters at the center of the story. Now, TWO MOONS continues that world and moves the narrative into its next phase.
This sequel opens with the arrival of a mysterious girl named Selen, who looks exactly like Sooha, the original female lead. The vampire boys and werewolf boys, who fiercely protected Sooha before, once again find themselves clashing as new threats appear.
TWO MOONS isn’t just a continuation of one series — it expands the growing Dark Moon universe. The Blood Altar was the first story in the franchise, but the universe also includes the prequel Dark Moon: Children of Vamfield and the spin-off Dark Moon: The Grey City, the latter featuring HYBE’s Japanese boy group &TEAM. With the addition of TWO MOONS, this becomes the fifth story in the overall Dark Moon timeline.
Considering its popularity, HYBE is giving the Dark Moon: TWO MOONS a major global rollout. Readers in North America, Latin America, Thailand, and Korea will get access on November 28, followed by Japan and Indonesia on November 29.
This push makes sense considering the impressive success of The Blood Altar, which was translated into 10 languages and dominated charts worldwide.
In Germany, it held the #1 spot on Sunday Webtoons for 32 straight weeks, and in Spanish-speaking regions, it stayed at #1 for 10 consecutive weeks. Even before the sequel’s release, excitement was already building: once HYBE posted about the new series on X (formerly Twitter), “Darkmoon” shot to the #2 and #3 spots on Korea’s real-time trending list.
The Dark Moon franchise is also expanding outside of the digital comic world. An anime adaptation of Dark Moon: The Blood Altar is currently in production and is scheduled to premiere in January 2026. It gives fans even more ways to experience the story and ENHYPEN’s characters.
To celebrate the launch of TWO MOONS, HYBE is also teaming up with the fashion platform Musinsa to release a special collaboration line inspired by “Nightball,” a fictional sport within the webtoon. The collection includes varsity jackets, track tops, and school-uniform-inspired pieces that reflect the world of the series.
HYBE shared that they hope Dark Moon: TWO MOONS will pull in readers around the world just as strongly as the original did. They also teased that the familiar setting will remain in place, but new characters and new mysteries will add a fresh layer to the world.
Dark Moon: TWO MOONS will be released weekly on Naver Webtoon as part of the Saturday lineup, beginning at 10 PM on November 28.
