Park Shin Hye has shared that she plans to slow down in 2026 and focus on her health. She made these honest remarks while appearing on the Haji Young YouTube channel, which aired on January 7 at 6 PM KST.
The 35-year-old actress is currently promoting her upcoming drama, Undercover Miss Hong, which airs this month. She began her acting career as a child actress in Stairway to Heaven in 2003. Since then, the actress has built a solid filmography with popular works such as Pinocchio, The Heirs, The Judge From Hell, and Doctor Slump.
As she prepares for the release of Undercover Miss Hong, Park Shin Hye is also preparing to step back.
Park Shin Hye to Focus on Health in 2026
While promoting her upcoming drama, Park spoke openly about her current state and future plans.
She said, “Honestly, I don’t have any plans for 2026,” and added, “I just hope that ‘Undercover Miss Hong’ will be loved by more people.”
The actress added, “I have been working on three works in a row right now, so I think this will be a year to get my health back.”
Park Shin Hye explained that she has been continuously working without much rest. After completing three projects back-to-back (Doctor Slump, The Judge From Hell, and Undercover Miss Hong), she feels this is the right time to pause and recover.
Rather than rushing into another project, she wants to prioritize her physical and mental well-being.
Her “What Can I Do About It” Mindset
During the interview, Park Shin Hye also shared her personal philosophy when it comes to work and stress. She said she believes in having a “what can I do about it” mindset.
She explained that she does not worry about things she cannot control, especially after a drama has already finished filming.
“I don’t get worried about a drama’s success because I can’t do anything about something that has already been shot,” she said.
She also revealed that she has never struggled with sleep due to work-related stress. This mindset helps her stay calm and focused, even in a high-pressure industry.
“The Heirs” as Her Life’s Work
When asked to reflect on her long career, Park Shin Hye chose The Heirs as her “life’s work.”
The 2013 hit drama, in which she starred alongside Lee Min Ho, played a major role in shaping her career. Despite being released over a decade ago, the series remains one of the most loved Korean dramas worldwide.
Looking Ahead to “Undercover Miss Hong”
Park Shin Hye’s next project is a workplace comedy Undercover Miss Hong, which will premiere on January 17, 2026, on tvN.
In the drama, she stars as Hong Geum Bo, a sharp 35-year-old financial inspector, and her undercover identity, Hong Jang Mi, a 20-year-old rookie employee.
The story is set in late-1990s Seoul and follows her character as she goes undercover at a suspicious securities company to uncover corruption.
She reunites with Go Kyung Pyo, her co-star from the 2013 drama Flower Boy Next Door. The cast also includes Ha Yoon Kyung and Cho Han Gyeol. The series will be available to global viewers through Netflix, and Korean viewers can watch it on tvN.
