Seunghan has been involved in several controversies ever since RIIZE made their debut. Before RIIZE’s debut, there were these photos that went viral, showing Seunghan kissing a woman.
And just recently, there was a clip from his private livestream with Soobin that started circulating online, along with some photos of him smoking. It’s been quite a rollercoaster for him with all these controversies.
When all those controversies came to light, there were a lot of Korean netizens who demanded that Seunghan be removed from the group. But at the same time, there were also many fans who showed their support and stood by him during those tough times.
On November 22, he shared a message on Weverse saying he felt truly sorry about his careless actions in the past that are currently causing harm to too many people.
Moreover, he apologized to fans and RIIZE members who showed unwavering support. Further, he promised to reflect and introspect and become a better person.
Shortly after Seunghan’s apology, SM Entertainment issued a notice acknowledging the disappointment and confusion he caused to the team, members, and fans due to leaked personal issues.
They further stated that Seunghan himself felt a burden and responsibility, and after careful consideration, he expressed his intention to step back from activities for the sake of the team.
SM Entertainment also recognized that it would be unfair to continue activities under these circumstances and decided to suspend activities indefinitely, respecting Seunghan’s wish to avoid further damage to the team and members.
As a result, RIIZE will now be active with 6 members, excluding Seunghan, starting today (November 22).
