ASTRO’s Cha Eunwoo and Park Gyu Young are drawing attention with their first official look for the upcoming drama A Good Day to Be a Dog. The fantasy romance, based on a popular webtoon of the same name, has been building excitement since production was first announced.
The story centers on Han Hae Na (played by Park Gyu Young), a cheerful high school teacher who hides a strange family secret. She is cursed to transform into a dog every night at midnight for six hours. The curse can only be lifted if she receives a kiss from someone in her dog form. Despite her bright and optimistic personality, this secret makes it difficult for her to pursue romance.
Her life takes a complicated turn when she crosses paths with Jin Seo Won (Cha Eunwoo), a math teacher at the same school. Seo Won is intelligent and kind, but he carries deep scars from childhood.
Because of a traumatic experience, he harbors a fear of dogs, making him the least likely person to help Hae Na break her curse. The drama follows their unusual relationship as Hae Na struggles to end her nightly transformation and Seo Won battles his fears.
The first teasers for A Good Day to Be a Dog were unveiled during the International Broadcasting Video Marketing 2023 event in Seoul. Both the poster and video showcased Cha Eunwoo and Park Gyu Young stepping into their webtoon roles with striking visuals. MBC has yet to reveal posters and promotional content.
While Cha Eunwoo is coming off the success of projects like Island and continuing his rising career as both an idol and actor, Park Gyu Young has gained recognition through dramas such as Celebrity and Dali, and Cocky Prince.
The drama also features appearances by Kang Min Hyuk of CNBLUE. Fans are now looking forward to the announcement regarding when A Good Day to be a Dog officially airs
