Did VCHA Disband or Rebrand? What’s Really Going On With the Group

VCHA, the global girl group launched in early 2024 by JYP Entertainment and Republic Records, has now either possibly disbanded or rebranded. A combination of member departures, a lawsuit, canceled promotions, and a full wipe of social media accounts has sparked rumors. No official confirmation has been made by JYP or Republic Records.

VCHA debuted in January 2024 with “Girls of the Year”, followed by “Only One” in March, and quickly gained international attention. In August 2024, they were set to perform at Lollapalooza, but their appearance was abruptly canceled with no public explanation. Group activity halted soon afterward.

In December 2024, former member KG filed a lawsuit against JYP USA, alleging severe mistreatment during her tenure.

The complaint details labor abuse through unpaid work (only about $500/week), excessive debt obligations (upwards of $500,000 per member, including shared housing), forced dieting, long rehearsal hours despite injuries, surveillance of living quarters, and inadequate mental health support.

KG also alleged a suicide attempt by one member and an eating disorder by another, both purportedly concealed by the company. JYP USA responded publicly, calling the claims exaggerated and stating they had been working to resolve KG’s concerns before litigation began.

In July 2025, VCHA member Kaylee officially left both the group and JYP Entertainment. The remaining members, Camila, Lexi, Kendall, and Savanna, have since activated their own individual social media accounts, a move widely interpreted as a sign of shifting toward solo careers or other projects.

On August 6, all VCHA social media—Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and X—were wiped clean of content, and the group was removed from JYP Entertainment’s official artist roster. No group updates, promotions, or official media interactions have occurred since “Only One”.

VCHA’s last public mention from JYP came in late 2024, when founder Park Jinyoung confirmed plans for a 2025 comeback, but those plans appear shelved amid internal conflict.

At the 2024 MAMA Awards, JYP Entertainment’s J.Y. Park clarified VCHA’s future plans following months of silence. He confirmed the group will return in 2025 with a concept focused on showcasing their own identity, separate from traditional K-pop norms.

Park emphasized, “I wanted to make sure they’re not K-pop as far as music and visual.” While produced under a K-pop company, he noted that the members were “born and raised in the United States” and weren’t influenced by Korean culture. The upcoming project will be built with “American producers, musicians, choreographers,” aiming for something “very different from JYP.”

Meanwhile, the absence of an official announcement about disbandment or rebranding leaves fans without closure.

Legal issues, member changes, and total digital wipeout strongly indicates that VHA is no longer an active group, or is undergoing an unannounced rebranding. Fans await clarity, but with no activity since early 2025, the future remains uncertain.

Lastly, to answer the question, did VCHA disband? No, at least not yet. Remaining VCHA members opened their personal Instagram accounts on August 5.

Since JYP Entertainment is following members’ individual accounts, it appears Savanna, Camila, Kendall, and Lexi have decided to stay as four and are possibly undergoing rebranding. These members are also following each other and have made the same post of four pink microphones, captioned ‘4,’ which hints that the group will continue their journey.
