Siyeon of Dreamcatcher is officially stepping into a new chapter of her career with the launch of a rock band called ChRocktikal. The four-member co-ed band is set to debut on January 15, 2026, with their first full-length album, We Break, You Awake.

ChRocktikal will release their debut album at 6:00 PM KST across all major music platforms. The project is led by Siyeon, who takes on the roles of main vocalist and producer. Known as the powerful main vocalist of Dreamcatcher, the 30-year-old K-pop star has long been associated with a rock-driven sound. She was also directly involved in creating the band’s name and overall concept.

The band consists of four experienced musicians. Alongside Siyeon is Lee Wonseok, who serves as guitarist and producer. He is a professional session musician who has previously worked with artists such as Super Junior’s Ryeowook and BOL4.

Lee Junyoung joins the band as the bassist and is a former member of the boy band IZ. On drums is Je Gwanwoo, who gained popularity as a contestant on the audition program The Idol Band: Boy’s Battle. Together, the members bring both idol and live-band experience into one project.

The name ChRocktikal carries a strong symbolic meaning. It combines “Chrome,” representing a bold and metallic image, “Rock,” reflecting the band’s musical foundation, and “Kal,” the Korean word for knife or blade. Kal also stands for sharpness and a direct, intense attitude. This meaning is reflected in the band’s visuals and sound, which focus on strength, edge, and impact.

Dreamcatcher Company first revealed in March this year that Siyeon was preparing for band activities. In July, an unofficial Instagram account appeared and was later confirmed by Siyeon to be connected to the project. In mid-December, the band’s official social media accounts opened, and each member was introduced one by one.

On December 25, a spoiler video featuring a glass sphere shattering confirmed the debut date and album title

This new project is also part of a broader shift in Dreamcatcher’s activities. In March 2025, members Handong, Dami, and Gahyeon ended their contracts with Dreamcatcher Company, while confirming that Dreamcatcher would continue as a group. Since then, the members have been expanding into solo and unit projects.

The agency has stated that it will continue to fully support both ChRocktikal and the other members’ individual and group activities.

Fans are now watching closely to see how Siyeon and her bandmates will shape their sound and identity when We Break, You Awake is finally released in January 2026.
