The 25-year-old K-pop star and BJ officially left DIA (Do It Amazing) in 2022 after a hiatus of over 1.5 years for health reasons. At the time, PocketDol Studio announced that she terminated her contract with the agency.

In 2023, she signed with Hotple Entertainment to pursue her career as a broadcast jockey (BJ) and began streaming on TikTok.

In the latest development, Ahn Somyi has partnered with Moden Berry Korea to pursue solo activities. Moden Berry Korea is a multifaceted entertainment agency that specializes in both talent management and digital content creation.

On March 27, the agency announced, “We have signed an exclusive contract with Ahn Somyi and plan to support her various activities moving forward.”

The agency added, “Ahn Somyi is currently reviewing her next move and will soon unveil new activities that will allow her to meet with fans.”

Ahn joined DIA in 2017, two years after the group’s debut as a new member After leaving the group and parting ways with Pocketdol Studio, she has been actively pursuing a career in online streaming and variety TV shows.

During an interview with “Attack on Sisters” in 2023, she revealed the reason for being a BJ was due to financial struggles.

Somyi, a former K-pop idol turned streamer, accused her company’s CEO of sexual assault in a complaint filed in February 2024. However, a CCTV footage showed her embracing the CEO and no visible signs of distress.

Prosecutors requested a one-year prison sentence for making false allegations. On March 21, 2024, the court found her guilty and sentenced her to one year and six months in prison. The former DIA member appealed the decision, and shortly after, her sentence was reduced to a two-year probation.

Now, netizens are looking forward to her upcoming activities in the spotlight as she continues her journey with Moden Berry Korea.
