Former RIIZE Member Seunghan Set for Solo Debut in July 2025  

Former RIIZE member Seunghan is gearing up for his solo debut this July. He will officially return to the K-pop scene after a tumultuous exit from the group in late 2024. According to multiple reports, including an exclusive from SPOTV News, the 21-year-old singer is in the final stages of preparation under SM Entertainment. His solo release is scheduled for the peak summer season. 

Seunghan Begins a New Chapter After Exit From RIIZE

Seunghan, whose full name is Hong Seung-han, debuted as part of RIIZE in September 2023 but faced intense backlash after past personal controversies, including leaked photos with an ex-girlfriend from his trainee days. After a nearly year-long hiatus, SM Entertainment initially announced his return in October 2024, only to reverse the decision two days later due to fan protests. 

In a handwritten letter, Seunghan expressed his decision to leave RIIZE, stating, 

As I deeply reflected, I began to worry and feel sorry, wondering if I had only been too focused on my thoughts until now, if I was causing too much trouble for the members and the company, and whether it was truly okay for me to be part of a team like RIIZE, which deserves to be loved by people.

That’s why, I feel that leaving the team might be the best decision for everyone. I don’t want to cause any more confusion or pain to the fans, nor do I want to cause any more trouble for the members and the company.

Solo Debut Preparations and Expectations  

SM Entertainment confirmed in November 2024 that Seunghan would pursue a solo career in the second half of 2025. They announced that he will undergo systematic training in vocals, performance, and production to continue his journey as a solo performer. 

Fans have already gotten a glimpse of his progress through dance practice videos uploaded to his official Instagram (@seunghan.smofficial).  

The timing of his debut—during K-pop’s competitive summer season—also raises questions about whether he can establish himself as a breakout soloist.  

While some fans remain divided over his past controversies, many have shown support for his solo venture. International fans, in particular, have criticized the harsh treatment he received, calling it a reflection of toxic fan culture.
