HYBE LABELS JAPAN, a subsidiary of HYBE Corporation, has announced a name change to YX LABELS.
YX Labels aims to establish itself as a key player in the Japanese music industry. The company aims to set a new standard of excellence, reflected in its name. It is committed to providing high-quality entertainment experiences that are innovative and exceptional. The company aims to cater to the diverse tastes of young people, including music fans.
YX Labels aims to stay ahead of the curve and bring fresh ideas and exciting experiences to the entertainment scene.
HYBE Japan, the Japanese headquarters of Hybe, stated, “As a leading company in the region, we plan to establish an independent multi-label system and continuously strengthen our ‘multi-home, multi-genre’ strategy within Japan.”
They added, “To achieve ‘Beyond Japan’ and spread more attractive entertainment experiences globally, we will further expand our business in the future.”
This name change is part of HYBE’s “HYBE 2.0” growth strategy, announced in August 2024. The plan focuses on expanding its music business through two key initiatives: a multi-label system and a multi-home, multi-genre approach.
The latter strategy aims to develop businesses that celebrate local cultures and characteristics from around the world.
HYBE 2.0 will transform the entertainment agency’s business structure into three main areas: music, platforms, and future tech growth. In the music division, the focus will be on:
- Improving content quality and fan experiences
- Growing its presence in key markets like Korea, the US, Japan, and Latin America
- Helping regional teams to work together more effectively
In July 2024, K-pop giant Hybe named its current Chief Strategy Officer, Lee Jae Sang, as its new CEO. Lee was chosen to lead “HYBE’s 2.0″ strategy, as part of a leadership transition that began at the start of the year.
