Jang Wonyoung has addressed recent rumors about launching her own brand. The IVE member clarified through her agency that her project “Forever: Cherry” is not a personal business venture. On January 28, 2026, her agency, Starship Entertainment, released an official statement confirming that the project is a brand collaboration, not a solo enterprise.
The trademark registration for “Forever: Cherry” under Wonyoung’s name led to rumors that she was starting her own brand. Starship explained,
As for the recent trademark registration, the name deeply reflects the artist’s unique identity and image. Therefore, the application was filed under Jang Wonyoung’s name in agreement with the brand to prevent third parties from misusing or commercially exploiting the brand after the project ends.
The name reflects the 21-year-old idol’s identity and nickname, “Cherry,” and the application covers a wide range of categories. The categories include perfumes, cosmetics, home goods, and personal care products.
The confusion began when KIPRIS trademark documents listed the application under Wonyoung’s name. She also tagged the Forever: Cherry Instagram account, which only followed her official page. Fans also noticed that the brand’s cherry logo cleverly incorporates the initials of her Korean name.
On the other hand, the idol also serves as a global ambassador for brands such as Tommy Jeans, Miu Miu, and Fred, and represents major companies like Innisfree, SK Telecom, and Dyson Korea.
Jang Wonyoung, born on August 31, 2004, rose to fame as the first-place winner of Mnet’s Produce 48 in 2018, debuting in the project group IZ*ONE. After the group disbanded, she re-debuted as the center of IVE in December 2021. Since then, she became one of K-pop’s top fourth-generation stars.
Currently, Jang Wonyoung’s group IVE is preparing to release their second full-length album, “REVIVE+,” on February 23, 2026.
