A recent and honest conversation involving South Korean entertainer Kian84 and singer CHUU has brought BTS member Jin into the spotlight. The discussion revealed Jin’s views on dating and marriage. The 33-year-old global pop star says it is tied to loyalty and honesty toward his fans.
The topic came up during a talk on Kian84’s YouTube channel, where conversations naturally turned to relationships in the idol industry. Kian84 shared a personal story about Jin, whom he worked with on Netflix’s reality show Kian’s Bizarre B&B.
According to Kian84, Jin’s mindset does not change even when the cameras are off. “There are some celebrities like that,” the 41-year-old entertainer said. “BTS’s Jin! Even when the camera is off, he’d say, ‘I can’t date.’”
After becoming curious, the TV personality asked Jin why he felt that way. The “Super Tuna” singer answered clearly, saying, “It isn’t being loyal towards the fans.” Kian84 shared that many idols secretly date while maintaining a single image in public.
He recalled telling Jin, “Just say that in front of the public, but just date off camera.” Jin immediately refused and replied, “Hyung, no I can’t do that.”
When Kian84’s story spread online, it received mixed reactions from fans, especially the global ARMY fandom. Some praised him for staying true to his values and being honest.
At the same time, some fans questioned whether Kian84 should have shared such a private conversation at all. One comment said, “Seokjin never feeds parasocial, he never acts like a hypocrite.” ARMY also criticized the host for sharing this information with the public, even if it is true.
Others worried that Kian84’s words would make him look like a ‘liar’ if he ever had a relationship in the future.
Many fans felt that idols should be allowed to live freely and love openly. One fan wrote, “Do whatever you want, King Seokjin! Date or marry we love you and will be happy for you always.”
On the work front, Jin’s group, BTS, is preparing for a major comeback as a full group after nearly four years. Their new full-length album, ARIRANG, will be released on March 20, 2026 followed by a massive world tour. The tour will cover 34 cities with a total of 79 shows and will begin with a large opening concert at Goyang Stadium on April 9, 2026.
