Kim Sae Ron’s acting days may be behind her, as she reportedly shifted her focus to become a full-time employee.
She was slated to return to acting in the play Dongchimi in April 2024, but she ultimately withdrew due to personal reasons.
The 23-year-old actress has been at the center of several controversies, including a drunk driving incident and romance rumors with actor Kim Soo Hyun. She has been MIA for months after a string of scandals that damaged her reputation.
As reported by TV Daily on July 2, Kim Sae Ron has taken on a new role as a full-time manager at a cafe in Seongsu-dong, where she oversees daily operations and even works behind the counter.
In May 2022, she was fined 20 million won for a drunk driving incident in which she collided with a tree and a transformer before fleeing the scene. Following the incident, she has been on an indefinite hiatus, reflecting on her actions.
As a result of the incident, she was removed from the SBS drama Trolley and the Netflix series Bloodhounds. In addition, she parted ways with her agency, Gold Medalist, as her contract expired.
Previously, there were reports that she worked part-time at a franchise company, however, the official from the company denied the reports.
As per the latest reports, Kim Sae Ron seems to be turning over a new leaf, leaving her controversial past behind and bidding farewell to the K-drama industry.
