The death of actress Kim Sae Ron has shaken the Korean entertainment industry. Fans have blamed Kim Soo Hyun for her untimely demise since the news of their relationship broke out.
The 37-year-old actor is accused of dating her when she was underage and forcing her to repay 700 million won debt. Netizens believe this led to her taking her own life on Kim Soo Hyun’s birthday, February 16.
Kim Sae Ron’s Ex-Boyfriends Reveals Abuse From Her Husband and Several Suicide Attempts
As per an exclusive report on March 25, her alleged ex-boyfriend (hereafter referred to as A) revealed to The Fact that Kim Soo Hyun had nothing to do with Kim Sae Ron’s death. He backed up his claims with a sworn statement, including his name, ID number, and fingerprint, as well as an audio recording that serves as evidence.
While talking to The Fact, the former partner A revealed, “I know for a fact that Sae Ron’s death was not because of actor Kim Soo Hyun. There are too many hidden truths, and that makes me extremely angry. To bring peace to Sae Ron’s soul, I want at least some of those truths to be known.”
The “Bloodhounds” actress’ sudden passing has led to rumors and speculation, but the truth remains unclear. Amidst the ongoing dispute over her 700-million-won debt, many wonder if there’s more to the story. A reveals the reason for speaking out, saying, “Sae Ron may be gone, but she wouldn’t have wanted the cause of her death to be twisted into something untrue.”
As claimed by A, the late actress was living a life of misery before her passing. She was caught between her ex-boyfriend K and her alleged husband, who lived in New York. After marrying him, Kim Sae Ron struggled emotionally and turned to K for support. However, her husband discovered that she was communicating with her ex-boyfriend and allegedly took her phone, monitored her, and verbally abused her.
A text message from her husband to Kim Sae Ron on January 13 read: “You’re married now, so stop contacting other guys. Live your miserable life and clean up your own mess, you worthless idiot.”
This abuse led to severe emotional distress and multiple suicide attempts. As claimed by A, her struggles weren’t due to debt or past relationships, but rather the toxic situation with her husband. In fact, her 700-million-won debt settlement had already been resolved a year ago.
On January 15, Kim Saeron sent a text message to A, saying: “I’m sorry. Just curse at me. Call me a bastard, a crazy b*h, a mental case. I keep getting cursed at and hit, but nothing changes.” She confided in K about the abuse, saying: “If only you could be happy, I wouldn’t wish for anything, not even my dreams. I loved you more than anyone in this world.”
In one of her texts to A, Kim Sae Ron explained how she met her husband: “I started seeing him in November. At first, he didn’t show much emotion. You were struggling every day, and I felt so lonely knowing I had no one to lean on. The truth is, I strayed. I needed someone who would listen to me and solve my problems. But that feeling didn’t last. After that, he started threatening to leak our KakaoTalk conversations and photos, hacked my Instagram, posted pictures, hit me, and verbally abused me. I was terrified. That’s why I couldn’t leave him. And I was scared it would affect you.”
Kim Sae Ron’s Ex-Boyfriends Points to Estranged Family Issues
Kim Sae Ron faced immense emotional pain due to her family’s lack of support and concern. This struggle resulted in a suicide attempt on November 1, 2024, where she severely injured her wrist and required emergency surgery.
Despite her family being notified, none of them visited her in the hospital. In contrast, her ex-boyfriend, A, provided emotional support by staying with her in the hospital until she was discharged. He provided a detailed account of the situation when Kim Sae Ron was treated at Hospital D’s emergency room in Gangnam, Seoul after a suicide attempt.
Furthermore, an official from her agency at the time covered her hospital bills. A revealed that her family’s indifference and lack of emotional support greatly contributed to her depression. After a self-harm incident, A took her home, where her mother showed no concern.
A stated, “Right after Sae Ron was discharged, I took her straight home. But when we arrived, her biological mother was calmly having a meal with an acquaintance. She showed no signs of shock or empathy for what had happened. Because of this kind of attitude from her family, Sae Ron always felt the urge to run away.”
Kim Sae Ron continued to rely on A emotionally, even after marriage. She shared her struggles with repeated suicide attempts, saying, “Even just cutting my wrist didn’t feel like enough to forgive myself, and I couldn’t escape. I cut my neck countless times and even tried to hang myself with a hose, but all that was left were scars. I’m sorry I couldn’t keep my promise. And honestly, the pain I felt was nothing compared to everything else.”
He criticized Kim Sae Ron’s family for distorting her story after her passing. He questioned their involvement after the lack of involvement in her life when she was alive.
A stated, “As someone who knew Sae Ron better than anyone, I find it absurd that her aunt suddenly appeared as her ‘bereaved family’ and is now trying to frame her death as if it was caused by an issue with Kim Soo Hyun. If even her biological parents aren’t speaking up, isn’t it possible that they were actually the people Sae Ron wanted to escape from the most in her lifetime?”
He continued, “How is it possible that no one in her family knew she had gotten married? To me, it makes sense. The fact that none of her family members knew about her marriage to a man in New York is proof that they barely communicated with her. But after showing little to no interest in her life while she was alive, they are now suddenly bringing up her past relationship with a famous actor from years ago. If they don’t have an ulterior motive, then what else could explain this?
