Kim Sejeong is set to make a major comeback with her first full-length album, Door, next month. Releasing on September 4, 2023, the album comes more than two years after her second mini-album, I’m. Kim wrote the lyrics for all 11 tracks and composed nine of them.
The album features songs such as Voyage, If We Do, The Desired Sea, Jenga, and When I Hear the Sound of Rain. Fans were treated to teasers and concept photos earlier this month to give fans a preview of the album’s aesthetic.
The album, Door, will be released in two physical versions, “Key” and “Lock,” each including a photobook and collectible items, and will be made available on streaming platforms worldwide.
Kim Sejeong first gained public attention in 2016 as a contestant on Produce 101, where she finished in the top ranks and debuted as a member of the project group I.O.I. Afterward, she joined the girl group Gugudan, where she further established her singing and performance skills.
In addition to her music career, Kim Sejeong has become a respected actress. She starred in Business Proposal in 2022, a romantic comedy drama where she plays Shin Ha Ri, an office worker who goes on a blind date pretending to be someone else, who happens to be the company’s president. The series became a hit domestically and internationally, and her performance earned her the Best Actress award at the SBS Drama Awards.
She also starred in The Uncanny Counter 2, a fantasy-action drama where she plays a young counter battling evil spirits. The show is currently ongoing and concluded on September 3, one day before the album release.
Meanwhile, Kim Sejeong’s full album, Door, will be available for streaming starting September 4.
