Kim Soo Hyun took home the top honor at the 2024 Asia Artist Awards (AAA), and his acceptance speech was especially sweet. He dedicated his Daesang award to his “Queen of Tears” co-star Kim Ji Won.
On December 27, the 9th Asia Artist Awards were held in Bangkok with a star-studded list of attendees. Many Kdrama and K-pop stars were in attendance including Byeon Woo Seok, Kim Soo Hyun, Kim Hye Yoon, Ahn Bo Hyun, NewJeans, LE SSERAFIM, TWS, ZEROBASEONE, QWER, KIOF, and more.
Kim Soo Hyun won four awards including Hot Trend, Fabulous Award, Best Artist, and Actor of the Year (Daesang). The 36-year-old actor was recognized for his amazing portrayal of Baek Hyun Woo in tvN’s highest-rated drama “Queen of Tears”.
He did not forget to thank his co-star Kim Ji Won, who played Hong Hae In, during the acceptance speech for Grand Prize Actor of the Year.
Kim Soo Hyun expressed, “And lastly, to the best actress in the world who played Hong Hae In, Kim Ji Won ssi. I want to dedicate this honor/award to her.”
He also thanked fans who watched “Queen of Tears” and supported him passionately. The Kdrama heartthrob also expressed his gratitude to Park Ji Eun and the directors who “poured so much blood, sweat, and tears into this project.”
Kim Soo Hyun further added, “I am also grateful to my senior and junior co-stars who worked alongside me. While working on Queen of Tears, I had many worries and concerns. This project, in particular, involved a lot of communication throughout the process. Once again, I sincerely thank all the staff members.”
Kim Soo Hyun has left fans swooning by dedicating his Daesang win to Kim Ji Won. Months after “Queen of Tears” wrapped up in April, fans remain smitten with Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won’s on-screen pairing. They are still holding out hope that they will take their romance off-screen.
On the work front, Kim Soo Hyun will star in Disney+’s “Knock Off” next, whereas Kim Ji Won has not announced her upcoming project yet.
