Allegations against Kim Soo Hyun are piling up, including claims of dating a minor, portraying Seo Ye Ji as a bully, and accusations about him forcing actresses to do nude scenes in the 2017 film “Real.”
Besides coming clean about his romance with the late actress, the 37-year-old actor has remained silent about the mounting allegations. Not just his critics, but even his fans urged him to hold a press conference and respond to the accusations once and for all.
Kim Soo Hyun is set to address the rumors surrounding his relationship with late actress Kim Saeron at a press conference today, March 31 (Korean time).
Gold Medalist has announced a press conference for March 31st at 4:30 PM, where the actor and the agency’s legal representative will be present. The agency apologized for the recent controversy, stating that they will publicly announce their stance on the matter alongside law firm LKBN Partners. However, the event will not include a Q&A session, and Kim Soo Hyun won’t answer journalists’ questions.
The scandal began when the YouTube channel and bereaved family accused the “Queen of Tears” actor of dating the “Bloodhounds” actress for six years. Their relationship began in 2015 when Sae Ron was just 15 and still in middle school.
In March 2024, the late actress posted an intimate photo with Kim Soo Hyun, however, his agency Gold Medalist refuted rumors and even announced legal action.
After intimate photos and videos of them were revealed by the Garo Sero Institute, he admitted that they had only been together for a year. However, evidence has been continuously emerging surrounding him that he had dated her for six years.
Kim Soo Hyun has chosen to speak out after facing intense backlash from the public. As a result, he is being dropped from advertising campaigns. Additionally, his upcoming Disney+ series “Knock Off”, initially set to premiere in April, is now embroiled in controversy due to his scandal. Since “Knock Off” has been postponed, it has put him at risk of facing financial penalties, including potential damages.
More recently Kim Sae Ron’s family shared old text messages that show she was in a relationship with Kim Soo Hyun when she was underage. She owed money to her agency at the time, Gold Medalist, around 700 million won. This huge amount was paid as compensation on her behalf when she was involved in a DUI incident in 2022.
As per reports and testimonies from close friends, she was extremely stressed when she received a repayment demand from the Gold Medalist. Kim Sae Ron could not afford to pay such a huge amount as her acting career was on halt. She contacted the agency, however, did not receive any response. Ultimately, the late actress released the photo last year in hopes that they would contact her.
Also, Sulli’s brother said that a bed scene with Kim Soo Hyun and Sulli was not as detailed in the original script. He also claimed that her sister was forced to do a nude and bed scene and he wants Kim Soo Hyun to explain.
