LE SSERAFIM’s latest release CRAZY has sold significantly fewer copies than expected, a surprising drop from their previous albums.
LE SSERAFIM released their 4th mini-album CRAZY on major music streaming platforms on August 30.
Their 4th mini-album CRAZY debuted with 195,264 copies sold on its first day, only slightly surpassing the debut day sales of their first EP FEARLESS (176,861).
LE SSERAFIM previously achieved impressive sales figures with previous albums like UNFORGIVEN (1,024,034), EASY (783,358), and ANTIFRAGILE (408,833).
CRAZY sales plummeted 75% on the first day, selling 195,264 copies compared to EASY’s 783,358 in February. LE SSERAFIM’s surprisingly low sales for CRAZY have raised eyebrows.
The group received massive backlash from K-pop fans and critics for their Coachella performance and poor live singing skills. Since then, the members have received a lot of hate for their live vocals and did not receive invites for any university festivals this summer.
In addition, they were dragged into the HYBE-ADOR conflict when CEO Min Hee Jin accused HYBE of making LE SSERAFIM debut first as the agency’s first girl group.
Further, they have been embroiled in plagiarism controversies several times since their debut in 2022.
The CRAZY album features a total of four additional songs: Pierrot, a hip-hop track sampling Kim Wan-sun’s 90s hit; Chasing Lightning; 1-800-hot-n-fun; and CRAZY.
Lastly, LE SSERAFIM has begun their comeback promotions with performances on music shows.
