KBS has banned the broadcast of LE SSERAFIM’s B-side track ‘Ash’ ineligible for broadcast for its problematic lyrics. The song, which is part of the group’s latest album ‘HOT’, was rejected in the latest KBS Music review.
On March 5, IZE confirmed that LE SSERAFIM’s song ‘Ash’ from their 5th mini album ‘HOT‘ has been deemed ineligible for broadcast by KBS Music Review.
KBS Music Review has deemed “Ash” ineligible for broadcast due to concerns over its lyrics. Specifically, the song’s lyrics have been found to glorify harmful behaviors such as self-harm or suicide. Additionally, the content violates KBS’s broadcast standards.
Songs deemed ineligible by KBS Music Review may be reconsidered for broadcast if the problematic content is revised or removed. However, ineligible songs can only be broadcast on KBS programs (including TV and radio) after revisions have been made and the song has been re-approved.
“HOT” is a 5-track album, containing songs such as “HOT” (title song), “Ash”, “Born Fire”, “Come Over”, and “So Cynical” (Badum). “ASH” will be released as part of their 5th mini-album “HOT” on March 14. LE SSERAFIM member Huh Yunjin participated as lyricist and composer on “Ash”. In addition, she contributed to the title track “HOT”, and “So Cynical” (Badum).
Meanwhile, LE SSERAFIM will drop their album “HOT” on March 14 and embark on their first world tour. Titled “EASY CRAZY HOT”, the tour will open with two shows in Incheon on April 19-20. They will hold concerts in various cities in Japan between May and June.
From July to August, LE SSERAFIM will make stops in Asian cities such as Bangkok, Manila, Taipei, Singapore, and Hong Kong. They will begin the North American leg of the tour in September, dates are yet to be announced.
