Song Kang is currently starring in the SBS Friday-Saturday drama My Demon. It’s a fantasy romantic comedy that tells the story of a contract marriage between chaebol heiress Do Hee, played by Kim Yoo-jung, and the ‘devil’ Guwon, played by Song Kang.

On December 24, there were reports by many renowned Korean media outlets that the Nevertheless actor will not be attending the SBS Drama Awards 2023.

SBS didn’t provide any specific comments regarding Song Kang’s absence at the 2023 SBS Drama Awards. They simply mentioned that they are currently coordinating.

It seems like because Song Kang won’t be there, the leads of My Demon won’t have the chance to lift the trophy together if they win the Best Couple award. On the bright side, Kim Yoo-jung, who played Do Do-hee in the drama, will be attending the awards ceremony as an MC.

Previously, the performer lineup for the SBS Drama Awards was announced, featuring Hwasa and TXT.

The 2023 SBS Drama Awards will take place on December 29 at the SBS Prism Tower in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul.
