NewJeans member Minji expressed her deep admiration for Hanni after her appearance at the National Assembly, where she addressed the pressing issue of workplace bullying.
Hanni made headlines today when she and the ADOR CEO appeared as a reference person and witness for the state audit at the National Assembly on October 15.
The 20-year-old Vietnamese-Australian singer shared details of the bullying incident and unfair treatment of HYBE. She responded to Chairman Ahn Ho Young’s queries without an interpreter.
After her speech at the National Assembly, fellow group member Minji showed support for her by leaving a message on Phonning, the fan communication platform exclusive to NewJeans fans.
Minji admired Hanni for her courageous stance, stating, “Honestly, I felt really sad and a bit sorry because it seemed like Hanni was going through so many tough things in Korea.”
She added, “But I was so proud and amazed by how brave and strong Hanni was in speaking up, and it made me feel so proud to be on the same team.”
Hanni was summoned by the Environment and Labor Committee after she shared an incident where a HYBE manager told an artist to ignore her when she greeted them.
On the work front, NewJeans made their Japanese debut with “Supernatural.” As claimed by Min Hee Jin, their surprise fanmeeting and work on their upcoming album was halted by HYBE due to the conflict.
