The 39-year-old Kdrama actor sat down for an interview related to “Squid Game* and addressed the controversial post that led to massive backlash.

On December 30, 2024, he accidentally shared a racy Japanese parody of “Squid Game 2” on his Instagram account. Even after repeated explanations from his agency BH Entertainment, he is still receiving criticism from Korean netizens.

During the interview, he talked about the post, saying, “As an actor, I’m happy and grateful that my work has received so much attention and love, but I made such a stupid mistake in the process.”

“I think the mistake is also my fault, and I think I need to accept that part first. In fact, I do not even want to touch my phone after the incident, so I am not feeling the popularity,” the Kdrama star added.

Last month, his agency clarified that he accidentally posted the AV cover on Instagram while reading DMs from fans. An additional explanation came a couple of days later. After talking to Park Sung Hoon, BH Entertainment stated that the “Queen of Tears” actor downloaded the video to report it to the company later, but ended up accidentally posting it on Instagram.

Park has been receiving hate and criticism since then, and many are calling for his removal from his upcoming drama with YoonA. Notably, tvN has confirmed that he is still a part of the time-travel drama “The Tyrant’s Chef”.

Meanwhile, Park Sung Hoon received praise for his portrayal of a transgender woman in “Squid Game” season 2, which premiered on December 26. After “The Glory” and “Queen of Tears”, he has added another standout performance to his portfolio.
