At the 2024 MAMA Awards, RIIZE’s acceptance speech captured the attention of fans particularly due to hints regarding Seunghan’s departure. As the members expressed their gratitude and emotions during the speech, they also talked about the “many events” that happened this year.
On November 22 (Korean Time), RIIZE along with many Korean artists attended the first day of the award ceremony in the US. They won the Favorite Global Male Performer Award and their acceptance speech has become a huge topic.
Member Anton spoke on behalf of RIIZE and hinted at Seunghan’s withdrawal from the group. He began by saying, “We really are grateful for your fans for, you know, being there for us, a lot has happened and the 1 year that we have been performing as artists.”
Anton added, “In the last year since last year’s MAMA, many of us are aware of what has happened but we are always grateful for our fans and BRIIZE as well as I’m really grateful for our members as well.”
He continued, “There have been, you know, many events, it’s a bit cliché to say this, I know, but all the members and I can do is promise our fans that we will always work hard and try our best to show the best versions of ourselves that we can. You know, there is a lot of open communication with us and the company and it’s really supportive, and we also are always grateful for our fans.”
Wizard Production, the production company behind RIIZE, made a surprise announcement about Seunghan’s return after a hiatus due to controversy surrounding his personal life. However, fans strongly opposed the decision, sending condolence flowers to SM Entertainment and releasing statements.
Just two days later, the agency reversed its decision and announced Seunghan’s departure from RIIZE. He is now set to launch his solo career in the second half of 2025.
