Actors Seo In Guk and Park Ji Hyun are confirmed as the leads in tvN’s upcoming office romance drama, Back to Work!, set to air in 2026.
The series, helmed by Jo Eun Sol and penned by Kim Kyung Min, is adapted from a well-known webtoon by McQueen Studios that has gathered more than 200 million views. It focuses on the relationship between Cha Jiyoon, a seven-year veteran office worker with a chronic illness, and her strict boss Kang Si Woo.
Seo In Guk will portray Kang Si Woo, a brilliant but cold and blunt manager known as the “worst grumpy guy” in the company.
Seo has earned his reputation as the “Romance King” of Korean dramas thanks to his amazing performances in beloved series like Reply 1997, Shopaholic Louis, and Doom At Your Service.
Next, he will be fighting evil forces in KBS2’s fantasy drama, Twelve, which airs on August 23. Earlier this year, Seo In Guk completed filming the romance drama Boyfriend onDemand alongside BLACKPINK’s Jisoo. He will now begin filming Back to Work! after completing his prior commitments.
Park Ji Hyun will portray Cha Jiyoon, a dedicated office worker who performs exceptionally well despite dealing with personal and health struggles. Park has impressed audiences with roles in Flex X Cop, Reborn Rich, and Yumi’s Cells.
Next month, viewers will see her in the Netflix drama, You and Everything Else, with Kim Go Eun. In addition, Park Ji Hyun is also negotiating roles for the upcoming second season of Flex X Cop and the drama M: Mixed Twins.
The chemistry between Seo In Guk and Park Ji Hyun is one of the most anticipated elements of Back to Work!, as this will be their first project together. The story’s focus on realistic office dynamics combined with romance has attracted viewers in their 20s and 30s, especially those who relate to the pressures and challenges of modern work life.
