It seems like NCT’s Taeyong is siding with fans and apparently asking them to boycott Starbucks Korea x NCT collection.
Previously, SM Entertainment received massive backlash for collaborating with a boycotted brand amid Israel-Gaza conflict. Some fans even sent protest trucks to express their disapproval and urged SM Entertainment to not collaborate with such brands.
On May 30, the NCT 127 leader created a buzz with his latest Instagram story. Taeyong, who is currently serving in the military, took to Instagram to share a story with the word ‘boycott.’
His IG story message appeared to encourage fans to boycott the NCT Starbucks merchandise, subtly suggesting that they refrain from making a purchase.
Fans are praising the TAP rapper for bravely going against the company and listening to their concerns. They are admiring him for boldly taking a stand without caring much about the consequences.
Ever since the merch dropped, fans have boycotted and vowed to show support for NCT in other ways.
Time and again, fan clubs have requested entertainment companies to not collaborate with brands supporting Israel and funding genocide in Gaza.
Despite the fan backlash, many agencies continue to overlook the fans’ opinions and have partnered with boycotted companies.
On another note, Taeyong enlisted in the military last month and recently gave a heartfelt speech at the military graduation ceremony.
