TWICE, now in their 10th year, made history on August 2 as the first K-pop girl group to headline Lollapalooza Chicago, performing an 80-minute, 21-song set to a packed crowd at Grant Park. The performance, part of the festival’s third day, was more than the group’s career highlight.

They made their headlining debut at Lollapalooza Chicago, joining Olivia Rodrigo, Sabrina Carpenter, and Doechii as this year’s main acts.

This year, the group was joined by fellow Korean artists, including boy groups BOYNEXTDOOR and KickFlip, girl group KATSEYE, and rock bands Xdinary Heroes and wave to earth.

TWICE kicked off their set with “The Feels,” immediately pulling the audience in before moving into high-energy tracks like “More & More,” “Touchdown,” and the ever-popular “Dance the Night Away.” The crowd response was instant and sustained, with fans waving lightsticks and singing along.

Midway through the set, TWICE shifted gears with hits like “What Is Love?,” “Talk That Talk,” and “Alcohol-Free.” Their English-language track “I GOT YOU” provided a slower, emotional moment before launching into a rock band version of “Stuck in My Head.”

One of the most anticipated moments came with the live debut of “Takedown,” performed by Jeongyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung. The track is featured on the soundtrack of Netflix’s K-pop themed animated film KPop Demon Hunters. The performance fit seamlessly into the set and also included by “ICON,” “I CAN’T STOP ME,” and “Cry for Me.”

The latter part of the set featured several unreleased or lesser-known songs: “Right Hand Girl,” “Fancy,” “Queen of Hearts,” “Moonlight Sunrise,” “One Spark,” “Strategy,” and “This Is For.” TWICE ended the show with “Feel Special,” a fitting closer that brought the emotional tone full circle.

Towards the end, leader Jihyo thanked the audience, saying, “We will try to come back with more good news, more music, and we hope to see you on our tour, ‘This Is For’.” Maknae Tzuyu added, “We are also incredibly grateful to everyone who worked so hard on our set” while Nayeon shared, “Thank you so much for coming out and thank you for watching, we hope you had a great time.”

As the final notes of “Feel Special” faded, a surprise drone show lit up the night sky above Grant Park. Drones first formed TWICE’s official logo, then transformed into a glowing moon. .

The words “The Honmoon is sealed” appeared across the sky, drawing cheers from fans who recognized the reference to KPop Demon Hunters. In the animated film, the Honmoon is a protective barrier powered by music, created to seal away demons and keep fans safe.

Next, TWICE has already launched their 2025-2026 world tour, This Is For, with shows in Incheon and Osaka. They will tour three cities in Japan (Aichi, Fukuoka, and Tokyo) from late August to mid-September.
