On November 14, SEVENTEEN made their voices heard in the main hall of UNESCO headquarters, a significant and symbolic space. They passionately called upon youth and future generations to take action.
Seungkwan, Jun, Woozi, Mingyu, Joshua, and Vernon, in that order, delivered impactful speeches representing the group, using Korean, English, and Chinese languages.
Following their speeches, the group performed five songs that carried their unique positive message of unity and encouragement, urging everyone to overcome challenges together instead of feeling frustrated.
Woozi was the third SEVENTEEN member to speak at the UNESCO Youth Forum. The SEVENTEEN’s vocalist also shared his reflections on the journey, acknowledging that it wasn’t always smooth sailing.
He talked about the criticism faced by the group, “We couldn’t have expected the success we have now from the beginning. Rather, there were many negative opinions that said “we will fail.”
However, he emphasized the significance of overcoming these limitations together. Looking back, it’s clear that their ability to unite and push through was crucial.
Woozi also mentioned that the crucial factor was whether they could overcome these limitations together or not. As he looked back on their journey, he realized the significance of unity and working as a team to overcome obstacles.
Woozi expressed that his passion for his dream and the support of his fellow members were the driving forces that helped them overcome adversity. He expressed solidarity with members saying, “Success didn’t come easily, but it was always fun to burn passion with the 13 members.
The Ruby singer said, “The members were always cheerful and never lost their smiles no matter what.” He continued, “They showed off their different abilities and strengths, including vocals, performance, and hip-hop.”
Woozi highlighted that as the members learned from one another and worked in harmony, the distinct color of Team SEVENTEEN started to emerge. He emphasized that SEVENTEEN’s unique approach to education, which involved cheerfully teaching and learning from each other, played a significant role in their growth.
