The 5th Blue Dragon Series Awards lit up Paradise City, Incheon on Friday, July 31. Sports Chosun once again hosted Korea’s only major awards show dedicated entirely to OTT originals.
This year’s eligibility window covered June 1, 2025 to May 31, 2026, and the competition was fierce. Netflix, Disney+, TVING, Coupang Play, and Wavve all dropped heavy-hitters. New faces like Kim Jae Won and Jeon So Young went home with trophies.
The Legend of Kitchen Soldier won the best drama honor and also picked up the awards for best supporting actor and OST popularity. Kim Go Eun won Daesang for her performance in Netflix’s You and Everything Else.
Visibly emotional on stage, Kim Go Eun promised, “I will continue to work as hard as possible so that people are always curious and want to discover new sides of me.” Her win was especially sweet as her other nominated project, Yumi’s Cells 3, was also recognized during the night.
Park Hae Soo dedicated his Best Actor win to his co-star Lee Hee Joon. In the supporting categories, Park Bo Kyung shared a deeply touching moment with her husband, actor Jin Sun Kyu. He tearfully embraced her on camera, prompting her to joke, “Honey, we finally have a trophy to replace the wedding ring I lost!”
Better Late Than Single took home the top variety prize, and producers and cast thanked contestants. Meanwhile, SNL Korea Season 8 secured wins for both Kim Won Hoon (Best Male Entertainer) and newcomer Kim Kyu Won.
