YG Entertainment’s stock price has received a much-needed boost, thanks to BLACKPINK’s upcoming world tour.
Daishin Securities has revealed the target stock price for YG is up by 23%, from 65000 won to 80,000. The financial service provider credited BLACKPINK’s 2025 world tour for this massive rise.
The 2025 world tour, still unnamed, is set to kick off at Goyang Stadium in July. The tour will feature a total of 17 concerts, running until January next year. With a massive turnout expected, the tour is expected to draw in an impressive 1.04 million attendees. Notably, YG Entertainment has yet to announce more stops for the tour, so the number is likely to go up.
Previously, Daishin Securities reported that around 40,000 fans’ attendance per show is anticipated.
Researcher Lim Soo Jin stated in a report on March 24, “With an average attendance of over 55,000 per concert, it far exceeds expectations. In the short term, the release of additional world tour schedules is likely to serve as a momentum driver for the stock price.”
According to Researcher Lim, BLACKPINK’s world tour is expected to exceed market expectations. It will drive a significant increase in YG Entertainment’s operating profit for 2023 and 2024. Additionally, the growth of other YG artists like BABYMONSTER and TREASURE will likely lead to even higher earnings. As a result, Lim believes that YG Entertainment’s stock price is still lower than its true value.
Researcher Lim also noted the strong performance of YG’s newer groups. BABYMONSTER’s world tour “HELLO MONSTER” has been a huge success, with all shows selling out and attracting a large audience of 430,000. Additionally, TREASURE’s latest album has seen a significant increase in sales, up 10.7% from their previous release.
Since BLACKPINK paused activities in September 2023, YG Entertainment has suffered financially and its net profits dropped drastically. BLACKPINK members are no longer managing solo activities under YG and will only pursue group activities with the label. All members Jennie, Jisoo, Rosé, and Lisa are nearly done with their solo activities and will begin group activities soon.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK will kick off a world tour with two shows at Goyang Stadium in South Korea on July 6-7. Next, they will hold shows in the largest stadiums such as Ippodromo Snai La Maura (80,000 seats), Stade de France (80,000 seats), Wembley Stadium (90,000 seats), SoFi Stadium (100,000 seats), and more.
