Byeon Woo Seok and Kim Hye Yoon’s reunion at ASEA 2025 is going to be EVERYTHING and more!
The most loved Kdrama couple of 2024 is set to reunite once again at the Asia Star Entertainer Award (ASEA 2025) next month. Following their reunion at the 9th Asia Artist Awards (AAA 2024) in December, fans were excited for another chance to see the “Lovely Runner” stars together.
Well, it’s finally happening as Byeon Woo Seok and Kim Hye Yoon will reunite in May. The Asia Star Entertainer Awards 2025 (ASEA 2025), presented by ZozoTown, will take place on May 28-29 at the K-Arena Yokohama in Japan.
The event will feature a special stage where music, stars, and fans come together. Actor Byeon Woo Seok was officially announced as a presenter today, April 9. The star-studded lineup includes aespa, ENHYPEN, KiiiKiii, THE BOYZ, &TEAM, BADVILLIAN, n.SSign, and more.
Byeon Woo Seok will perform on the second day of the event, May 28, while Kim Hye Yoon will co-host with MONSTA X’s Hyungwon and THE BOYZ’s Younghoon. He is set to present the grand prize award on May 29, the second day of the awards ceremony. Actor Jang Keun Suk will present the grand prize award on the first day of the ASEA 2025 ceremony.
Starting his career as a model, Byeon Woo Seok transitioned to acting with the 2016 tvN drama “Dear My Friends.” He then went on to appear in various notable works, including MBC’s “Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo,” tvN’s “Record of Youth,” and JTBC’s “Strong Girl Nam-soon.” However, it was his first leading role as Ryu Sun Jae in the 2023 TV drama “Lovely Runner” that catapulted him to global stardom.
He even sang the OST “Sudden Shower” for the drama, which charted domestic charts. This also makes him a strong contender for the OST Award at the Asia Star Entertainer Award. He became a global star after “Lovely Runner” and has scored lucrative endorsement deals with top brands.
In addition, Byeon Woo Seok is set to take on a new role in the drama “Wife of a 21st Century Prince,” where he will share the screen with IU in a romantic storyline.
Meanwhile, actress Kim Hye Yoon, Monsta X’s Hyungwon, and THE BOYZ’’s Younghoon have been chosen as MCs for the second day’s events. The ceremony is hosted by South Korea’s leading entertainment and sports media outlet, NEWSEN, celebrating its 20th anniversary, as well as Star & Style magazine @star1 (@style), and The Star & M. The ASEA Organizing Committee and Zozotown are behind the organization.
Ticket sales for the second round began on April 8, with more information available on the official website and Zozotown’s special page. The “ASEA 2025” team is set to roll out details on the artist lineup, award categories, and judging criteria in phases on their official website.
