Min Hee Jin has been involved in a legal battle with HYBE since April, and it continues to this day.
The former CEO of ADOR is now dealing with a hefty legal bill of 2.3 billion KRW (approximately 1.7 million USD) in her ongoing battle against HYBE.
During a Hyundai Card Da Vinci Motel event in Itaewon, she revealed considering selling her house to cover the costs.
Many HYBE labels including SOURCE MUSIC and BELIFT LAB as well as key executives have filed defamation lawsuits against her. In addition, HYBE also filed a lawsuit for breach of trust for taking control of ADOR. She filed an injunction in May to retain her position as an ADOR CEO, which she ultimately won.
However, Min Hee Jin was eventually dismissed as CEO on August 27, and she filed an injunction again for her reinstatement as a CEO.
At the event, she shared, “The lawsuit cost is 2.3 billion won (approximately $1.7 million) so far. They are filing these pointless lawsuits to either prevent me from responding or to bankrupt me if I do.”
However, Min said she would continue to fight the legal battle even if it meant selling her house, “I am going to sell my house because of these legal fees. If you do not have enough money, you can not win.”
She added, “I am grateful I do not have children or a husband and I am grateful that my parents are living off well.”
Min Hee Jin expressed her willingness to take on the financial burden of fighting for justice and proving her innocence.
She also played a demo instrumental of NewJeans’ unreleased song at the event and teased a tell-all documentary about the conflict. She thanked NewJeans’ fans and promised to give back in a big way once it is all over.
The conflict between Min Hee Jin and HYBE began in April when HYBE started investigating ADOR over allegations that Min Hee Jin was planning a hostile takeover to make ADOR a separate entity.
