Mark is now ready to take the spotlight alone, making his solo debut after 8 years. The NCT member previously postponed the release, however, is now all set to share his solo music with the world.
Mark is gearing up to release his debut album, “The Firstfruit”, on April 7. He experimented with different genres for his 13-track album including the title song “1999”.
His debut full-length album is a personal and meaningful project. It draws inspiration from four significant cities in Mark’s life. These cities include Toronto, his hometown, as well as New York, where he first experienced life as an immigrant. Vancouver, where the 25-year-old K-pop star spent his school days, and Seoul, where his dreams became a reality.
His agency SM Entertainment described the new album “The Firstfruit”, saying, “It’s a work that condenses Mark’s growth and musical journey, from his childhood to becoming an NCT member and now a solo artist. We have prepared diverse promotions, as we’ve invested our heart and soul into this album.”
The agency announced that they have prepared several offline events to promote the album. Mark knows that debuts only happen once, so he has given it his all and left nothing on the table.
The idol delayed the release from February to April to perfect and refine the album. He wanted to improve the quality of the album and give a more polished version to the fans.
His pre-release singles “200” and “Fraktsiya” ft. Lee Young Ji will be included in the upcoming album “The Firstfruit”. Mark has teamed up with bandmate Haechan for the track “+82 Pressin”, slated to release next week.
Mark (Lee Min Hyung) is a Canadian-Korean rapper, singer, and songwriter. Born on August 2, 1999, in Vancouver, Canada, he later moved to New York and eventually Seoul to pursue his music career.
He debuted as an SM Entertainment’s boy group NCT in 2016 and later became a fixed member of NCT 127 and NCT Dream.
In addition to his work with NCT, the K-pop star will now explore solo endeavors. Mark will release his album “The Firstfruit” on April 7 and the pre-release song “+82 Pressin” with Haechan on March 19 at 6 PM KST.
