fromis_9 is making the long-awaited and first comeback of the year next month with 3rd single, Supersonic.
Ahead of their comeback, let’s look at the fromis_9 members profiles to know more about their journey so far.
Despite not having enough comebacks and activities as compared to other HYBE groups, fromis_9 has made their mark and gathered a significant fanbase even with limited releases.
fromis_9 (from idol school), currently under PLEDIS Entertainment and previously managed by Off The Record, was originally a 9-member group.
The 9 in their name represents the 9 members, however, member Gyuri left the group on July 31, 2022. fromis_9 then organized and continued activities with an 8-member lineup.

Saerom
Saerom is the leader and singer of the PLEDIS’ girl group, fromis_9. Born on January 7, 1997, the 27-year-old singer and lyricist is known for her stunning visuals and captivating stage presence.
Before winning the Idol School competition in July 2017 and thus becoming a fromis_9 member, Lee Saerom was a contestant on Dancing 9 Season 2 in 2014.
As a songwriter, she has actively participated in writing lyrics for some of the group’s hit songs, including:

Hayoung
Song Hayoung is the main dancer, Vice Captain, and vocalist of the group. Hayoung, born on September 29, 1997, joined fromis_9 in 2018 after ranking second on Idol School with 71,549 votes.
In 2022, the 26-year-old K-pop idol released a digital single, My Sweden Laundry #2, a cover of the 2013 song by the duo Sweden Laundry.

Jiwon
Park Jiwon, born on March 20, 1998, is a fromis_9 member who almost debuted with the girl group TWICE. The 26-year-old vocalist was a contestant on JYP Entertainment’s survival reality show, SIXTEEN (2015), which created TWICE. However, she did not make it to the finals and was eliminated in episode 9 of the show.
Jiwon participated in the Idol School in July 2017, and finished 6th place with 63,816 votes. She released a solo digital single, Talk to Me, in July 2023.
In addition, Jiwon sang multiple OSTs and collaborated with artists like Baekho and Jeong Dong Won).

Jisun
Jisun aka Roh Jisun and Rose Roh, is another fromis_9 member born in 1998, November 23, 1998. The 25-year-old idol ranked 1st on Mnet’s Idol School with 71,834 votes.
Jisun is from Seoul and went to Daejin Girls High School. She is affectionately called the ‘mother’ of fromis_9 as she cooks well and takes care of the members.
Besides being a center, vocalist, and lead dancer, she is also a songwriter and has contributed to writing

Seoyeon
Lee Seoyeon aka Laura Lee (English name) is a rapper of the group, born on January 22, 2000. Aged 24, she was formerly a trainee at YG Entertainment and part of the pre-debut trainee FUTURE 2NE1.
Since FUTURE 2NE1 never debuted, Seoyeon participated in the Idol School, finishing the competition by securing the 7th spot with 61,083 votes.
She sang OST, I Am You, You Are Me for the drama Secret Diary and released a digital single, I Guess It’s Our Last Spring in March 2024.

Lee Chaeyoung, aged 24, is a rapper, singer, and dancer of fromis_9. Born on May 14, 2000, she has impressed the audience with her rapping skills and dance moves.
Originally, her English name was Elizabeth but she later changed it to Cherry Lee. She became a part of the fromis_9 lineup after advancing to the finals of Idol School, ranking 4th with 65,318 votes.
Nagyung
Lee Nagyung, born on June 1, 2000, is a lead rapper, dancer, visual, and vocalist of the group. Aged 24, she is the maknae of 2000 liner members of fromis_9.
Nagyung finished the Idol School competition in fifth place, receiving 64,001 votes. Interestingly, she made her acting debut in the 2021 web drama Shadow Beauty.

Jiheon
Baek Jiheon aka Millie (English name) is the maknae (youngest) of the group, aged 21. She was born on April 17, 2003, in Boseong County.
Before becoming a Fromis_9 member, she trained at the IFI Training Center and Ti Agency, then joined CJ E&M Music. Jiheon also joined the group through Mnet’s survival show, Idol School, like the rest of the fromis_9 members.
She has participated in the writing of the following song
